The Holst Singers and Stephen Layton have developed a reputation as some of the finest exponents of Russian and Eastern European repertoire in the West through critically acclaimed recordings and performances. This concert features their latest exploration of the powerful and emotive music of the Russian Orthodox Church including works by Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninov and their contemporaries. Pieces by American composers Morten Lauridsen and Eric Whitacre complete an atmospheric programme.
