About the Event
Our programme features the music of Holst together with music from other 20th century English composers associated with Holst. We are particularly excited to be performing three works by the contemporary composer Roxanna Panufnik. Other items in the programme include two works by Holst's student Rubbra and one by his daughter (and former patron of the Holst Singers) Imogen Holst. We also perform John Rutter's Hymn to the Creator of Light and two soaring works by Howells: Hymn to St Cecilia and Behold O God our Defender.
