About the Event
In celebration of the 150th anniversary of the birth of Ralph Vaughan Williams, one of England's most treasured composers, the Holst Singers will perform a programme of English choral music under the baton of Music Director Stephen Layton.
Vaughan Williams' Mass in G Minor intertwines a programme of music from his contemporaries, Gustav Holst, Hubert Parry, Charles Villiers Stanford, and Arnold Bax.
The Mass is dedicated to the choir's namesake Gustav Holst, who was a close friend of Vaughan Williams, a relationship which was influential in the development of both composers.
